The Fun Families

The tool you need for building your family

Summer is arguably the busiest season of the year.  What are some snacks that we can eat that won’t end up with cranky,  unhealthy kids? Try some FRUIT. It’s as simple as that!  Here’s why:
80% of your body is made of water. Your body functions best on high-water content foods. Like fruit.
It takes your body only 30 minutes to process fruit. It grinds away at steak for 8-10 HOURS
Fruit is digested WITH oxygen, producing waste made only from water and carbon dioxide.
High protein foods like meat and dairy are digested WITHOUT oxygen, producing waste with ammonia which is hard on the kidneys
What do breast milk and fruit have in COMMON? Both are only about 1% protein. Proteins are the cell builders. Proteins consist of amino acids. Of the 20 different amino acids, 8 of them are considered ESSENTIAL. These 8 are not produced by the body itself. Now look at all these fruits and vegetables that contain ALL 8 ESSENTIALS in a single serving:
      Bananas                   Tomatoes                   Cucumbers       Potatoes
       ☼Sweet Potatoes             Carrots                     Cabbage         Corn
          ☼ Cauliflower                 Summer Squash
Now here’s the BONUS:  The natural sugars in fruit stimulate the brain—resulting in faster thinking and faster information recall.      Here are some fruits that TRAVEL EASILY: (Let’s hear it from zipper top bags!)
      Grapes
Apples (Keep an apple slicer/corer in a zipper bag so you don’t peel until time to eat)
      Pears
       Cherries
Carry a box of whole wheat snack crackers, and a bottle of water, and you have a nutritionally rounded spread that won’t leave everyone feeling “car lag”. PLUS you’ll be helping your family to enjoy a healthy diet!
