The Fun Families

The tool you need for building your family

Need some ideas to get your family out in the sun?
Here are some great family games to enjoy out in the sun:
                 Marco Polo
A variation of tag. “It” is blindfolded and calls out “Marco”. Other players    respond by calling out “Polo”. “It” tries to find and tag one of the other players based on the calls.  A fun game that also builds aural skills
                  Four Square
An timeless game. Paint or draw an 8 ft square, divided into 4 equal sections. Get a bouncy ball (you can also buy “official” 4 square balls).  Each person stands in a square. Extras stand outside the square, waiting for one of the players to be “out”. Number the squares clockwise. Player in square 1 bounces the ball and then hits it into any           of the other 3 squares. Receiving player has to let the ball bounce 1 time only and then hit it into one of the other 3 squares. Play continues until a player fails to receive a successful hit. The failing player is out, the next player in the out line is in, and the other rotate clockwise.
                Backyard Obstacles
A kids’ favorite.  Each time you play, a different child sets up an obstacle course of his choosing and sets the rules for competition. Once you start playing, the rules cannot be changed, added or deleted.  A lot of fun and it helps kids practice thinking ahead and visualizing result.
              Freestyle Relays
Once again, kids rule!  Kids take turns defining the next relay.  You need a family of least four for this, two on a relay team.
The key with all of these games is that the adults play WITH the kids. Your enthusiasm builds their enthusiasm and creates lots of good memories
